Tanir Allweis

Prof. Tanir M. Allweis is Chair of the Department of Breast Surgery and Director of the Multidisciplinary Breast Health Center at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel and a Visiting Professor at the Jameel Clinic. She also serves as Professor of Surgery at the Hebrew University Medical School and is the current Chair of the Society of Breast Surgery within the Israel Surgical Association.

A graduate of the Hebrew University School of Medicine, Prof. Allweis completed her general surgery residency at Hadassah University Hospital, followed by a surgical oncology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, and a breast surgery fellowship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

With over 25 years of experience in academic and private hospital settings, Prof. Allweis has developed a growing focus on risk-adapted breast cancer screening. Her longstanding interest in personalized risk assessment has led to her current choice of sabbatical, to explore the clinical integration and implementation of MIRAI and its potential adaptation for Israel’s unique population demographics and healthcare system.
