About the Event

How can we build ethical machine learning models in health? MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Assistant Professor and Jameel Clinic Principal Investigator Marzyeh Ghassemi has been at the forefront of bias in medical machine learning for several years. Her research group HealthyML studies how naive applications of state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) can replicate the inequities and harms of human biases and proposes intelligently designed approaches as a meaningful way to advance equity, fairness and representation in science and health. This event free and open to all as part of the annual Cambridge Science Festival’s Lunch & Learn series in the Star Room of Stata Center, which is located on the 4th floor. Lunch will be provided.
